Micro Piling
On sites with limited access and/or low headroom and sites with restriction on fumes or where heavy plant is prohibited, often the only viable solution is to construct foundations is utilising micro piling equipment.
Micro piles or mini piles can typically be installed with minimal vibration and noise pollution using small scale piling rigs suitable for working in restricted access areas and/or where low headroom piling is required.
Our M Trak and TC7 micro piling machines can access most internal areas inside houses, basements or low headroom sites, even those with tight or difficult access. With our minipiling rigs we can drill piles from 250mm diameter to 1000mm diameter up to a depth of 20m.
Micro pile driving under a low head height is also possible in certain circumstances using the bottom pile driving method or top driving steel in sections.
Micropiles have been extensively used for retrofitting applications in earthquake zones in order to make existing structures more resistant to seismic activity.
Micro piles can be used for foundation upgrades, refurbishment works, temporary and permanent piling applications for both tension and compression loadings and they are well suited to a wide variety of ground conditions. When specifications require it, piles can be raked or angled.
