Access Shafts

Spiral Drillers has been constructing large diameter access shafts for over 20 years.

Drilled access shafts can be constructed up to 3.8m in diameter, and down to a depth of 40m. After drilling, a large diameter casing is often installed to provide a safe and cost-effective access solution.

Access shafts are often an alternative option to shoring, batters or sheet piling. Our equipment and tooling capabilities mean we are able to successfully excavate large shafts under both dry and wet conditions.

Due to also having sheet pile installation capabilities, we have a unique perspective of being able to evaluate the pros and cons of each option dependent upon site and ground conditions.
