Orua Bay Road, Manukau Heads

Sector: Steel Retaining Wall
Location: Orua Bay, Manukau Heads

This project involved installation of a UB260 Steel Retaining Wall, made up of 23 piles, encased in concrete, and lagged with timber.

The job included laying Novacoil and backfilling with Styrodrain, covered by geotextile cloth layers on either side.

Prior to starting our works on the main boundary wall, we had to excavate to required concrete level. During this process, we were left with a 3.6 metre vertical cut to work adjacent to. Our Operator identified the non-compliance immediately and stopped works. The Soil Engineer designed a temporary retaining system comprised of steel plates and welded beams. This allowed work to proceed.

The coastal setting of this site is truly stunning, and the retaining wall has been meticulously constructed, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
